By integrating photo-voltaic solar panels and solar hot water panels each house converts Ambient Energy into Electrical Energy.

Energy Panels; electric and thermal, are placed on the buildings for maximum sun access and energy effectiveness. Their function is doubled as they serve to shade the windows from the summer sun.

Typically, inside and immediately behind the thermal hot water panels, several hot water tanks are placed to minimize heat loss in the transfer medium (glycol). The electrical solar panels are placed similarly adjacent to battery banks or electric grid hook-up.

Low’E’ glass –designed to facilitate conversion of sunlight to thermal energy, depends on fenestration orientation and placement.  The total direct gain glass usually exceeds about 20% of the house's floor area.

Solar ovens and cookers are incorporated into the design of the kitchen to allow alternatives to using appliances.
